Angoche, Larde, Pebane, Moma and Nacala Porto benefited from the initiative

Solidariedade Moçambique-ADS, recently delivered one thousand and thirty buckets with taps, four hundred and fourteen boxes of soap, one thousand three hundred and fifty face protection masks, one hundred ninety-eight posters with Covid19 prevention messages, ten CDs with Open scenes spots and 1,200 capulanas for the manufacture of homemade masks in the districts of Angoche, Larde, Pebane, Moma and Nacala Porto province of Nampula and Pebane in Zambézia with the aim of supporting the prevention and combat of Covid-19.

It is an initiative of the organization that has the support of OXFAM, through the AGIR program, financed by the Embassy of Sweden which aims to help the districts of Nampula where it operates with its projects. In addition, Covid19 pandemic hygiene material support for prevention included the Pebane district in Zambézia, within the scope of the marine conservation program, called Health-Population-Environment (SPA) implemented by SOLD.MOZ-ADS in partnership with Blue Venture Conservations, which also supported the districts of Larde, Moma and Angoche, where it develops the same program.

According to António Mutoua, Executive Director of Solidarity Mozambique, the offer aims to contribute to the prevention and combat of this pandemic that has been plaguing our country since March, with a greater incidence in the province of Nampula.

“We have been working in this district for several years, and we could not remain indifferent at a time when COVID-19 is causing deaths in our province,” said the Executive Director.

Mutoua understands that the offers are not enough to fight this pandemic, but it can help to contain the disease.

During the delivery of the material in the Angoche district, the Administrator, Daniel Alberto Amade, thanked the gesture and said that the donation will strengthen the capacity for mobilization, prevention and hygiene in the communities.

“We are going to reach the population and we believe that it will improve a lot in the fight against this pandemic”, he added.
